The goal of this class is to gain a basic comprehension of spoken Arabic, providing students with the ability to communicate at a beginners level while equipping participants with a foundation for further study.

The instructors' approach is semi-informal, creating an educational atmosphere that promotes intuitive understanding and expression without pre-meditated translation, and without being wary of knowledge gaps or potential errors when speaking. 

A primary focus will be providing opportunity for students to express themselves conversationally in Arabic, including practice with asking and answering questions, storytelling, enacting scenarios, etc. The course will also incorporate some study on Arab and Muslim society, culture, and history.
