Reaching the Community
Community outreach: Utilizing our unique position as a “triangle” organization, Windows provides the public with a range of activities that relate to the particular needs of each society. Building from previous experiences of delivering humanitarian aid in the Occupied Territories, we are developing community empowerment programs like our institutional support of women’s local enterprises and olive oil exports from the West Bank. In Israel, we provide alternative information through tours, lectures, film screenings, exhibitions and spoken Arabic courses.
Creating models of educational programs
We believe in the importance of sharing experience and developing models that can be duplicated based on our programs and the unique conflict resolution methodologies we have developed. Along the years we have developed strategic plans for five years at a time for both management and program development. Each year we update our programs according to the experience gained and the needs of the changing reality. Thus we developed programs for our own youth media program, for schools and community centers, for facilitators and teachers training and more. We have developed these programs for youth in the Middle East but also as a model for youth around the world. One of the challenges for the future is to polish our methodologies and models and edit them into programs that can be used by others, with or without our supervision.
